It’s that time of year again: Doctor Who returned to our screens on Sunday - 7th October 2018!
And, due to my exceptionally busy life that seems to have inveigled its way into my reality since my birthday at the end of June, II only managed to watch this first episode with the new "Lady Doctor" yesterday late afternoon! I really loved it: great to finally have a female Doctor, and a fellow Yorkshire Lass (I being born in Harrogate). I also loved the fact that it was set in Sheffield, where, when I get to the Overpass on the M1, I always feel somehow I have "come home!! This, despite only spending the first two years of my life in Yorkshire, yet there is always this warm feeling inside of me when I get to Sheffield, in the South of the county, where I feel Yorkshire just begins!
With the run-up to this new Doctor, I have been reflecting (in-between busy-ness!) on my fascination with ‘time’........
I no longer own a TV......it was ceremoniously taken to the local tip to be recycled in May 2013, after I realised it had become a glorified ‘stand’ for flower arrangements, complete with antique ‘crocheted’ pretty runners atop its silver sturdy frame (being purchased back in 2003!). Yet, I still ensure that I watch Doctor Who on iPlayer on my iPad Mini, and old episodes from time-to-time on Netflix!
I remember first watching Doctor Who at the tender age of 3 at our next-door neighbour’s in Stockton-on-Tees with their son, Gianni who was two years older than me. It was in black-and-white and the ‘Doctor’ was John Pertwee. It was so scary in places that we, of course, hid behind the sofa!
We also watched The Herbs; Camberwick Green and Trumpton as well as Play School and, of course, Blue Peter.
My parents were so embarrassed that I kept going round to watch ‘telly’ that they ended up buying one for us as a family.
Interestingly, I have never really been ‘a square-eyes’ and, though, I particularly loved time-related programmes like Doctor Who and whenever HG Wells’s Time Machine was broadcast, I would watch it, fascinated with the notion of time travel and ‘bending’ time, the latter being something I have been able to do for many years now.
So, what IS Time? Well, really, I feel in the Western World it has become something by which our lives can be controlled. For instance, as early as going to school, there are penalties for being late, and set times for lessons and even homework - you ‘must do your homework for one hour’ being my remembrance from Secondary School. Nowadays even children as young as 5 are being given homework to do with penalties for not completing it..... very sad. What happened to ‘free time’ where children just enjoyed running and playing after school rather than being made to do some Maths or other subject on their laptop or tablet after tea? Hmmm........
The thing is, I feel most children are free-spirits who have no notion of time, even when it is imposed on them....... they are simply ‘in-the-moment’ or, as the technical term for it ‘in-time sub-modalities’! Meaning exactly that: when they are doing anything at all, they are ‘in-time’ totally present to what they are doing with no idea what the time is or how much time has actually passed!
The system, and many who ‘run’ it are the opposite of this: they are ‘on-time sub-modalities’; in other words, they are very particular about being ‘on-time’ and keeping ‘to time’ and tend to live by their watches!
I - and indeed my beautiful Obi - come into the first category ‘in-time sub-modalities’! This can be exceptionally challenging in every day life as often ‘time’ seems to run away and we can lose time! Then on other occasions, it seems like we can achieve absolutely loads in a much shorter period of time than seems possible for the task undertaken. Or, I have found myself travelling a great distance in a much shorter space of time than it should have taken, AND, I have been sticking to the speed limit on the roads!
How and why does this happen?
My theory is that time is in fact a flexible entity and something that we can extend or contract with intention. Like the notion of ‘ageing’. If one chooses to feel old, or decide that they must be old now they are in their 30s or 40s etc, then ‘QED’ you become that!
Ageing is all tied up in this notion of ‘time’ and that ‘time is slipping by’. Well, what if, like Obi and Me, you choose to be ‘a timeless being having a human experience’ and that YOU are in charge of how you feel; look; be; act and that you can, in fact ‘reverse’ time?
One of my sayings to people I meet is that ‘all things are possible’ and that ‘everything can be reversed’ : health conditions; ageing; even ‘time’ itself! It comes down, in the first instance, to your attitude and intention!
Obi is, on the ‘earth plane’ 58 years old, yet is often taken for being in his mid-late thirties. For my part, I seemingly ‘celebrated’ my 50th birthday on 30th June this year, yet again, like Obi, am taken for being much younger than my chronological age.
I am currently in the process pf creating a special range of ‘ anti-ageing/anti-wrinkle’ products, both for transforming the inside of the body as well as the outside and am aiming for my new programme to be approved and ready early in 2019. I recently spent 5 days on a special course learning more about the properties of, and indeed making, lots of totally natural products for the body and hair and creating new, gorgeously comforting; uplifting and divine ‘smells’ for the new ranges currently in their gestation stage in my subconscious mind!
So, I’ll keep you updated of my progress.
In the meantime, Obi and I - after having had a most enjoyable and successful Sound Healing Weekend of Talks and Workshops on 21st & 22nd September - are running a Live Love Laugh Sound Healing for Parents & Kids on Sunday 21st October, which is now full up.
I am also going to be holding my inaugural Autumn Talks on the subject ‘Awakening Your Power’ on Monday 5th November 7-9.30pm. If you are interested in attending, please click here to go to the Event Details
In these first sessions, I will be talking about the Ancient Egyptian 13-Chakra System and the Mer-Ka-Ba, which the Ancient Egyptians believed was something we all have around and inside us.
Many, including me, feel this has been dormant for many lifetimes and that ‘now’ as we continue our shift into what is being termed ‘New Earth’ around the world,it is time to activate our personal Mer-Ka-Ba.
I studied this a few years ago and activated firstly my eight-pointed Mer-Ka-Ba and then my 13-pointed one, through meditation.
I shall be talking about this and holding a special ‘Mer-Ka-Ba’’ activation meditation as part of the ‘Awakening your Power’ Talk on 5th November.
