Rose Extract is part of my specially created flavouring consisting of a unique combination of extracts, which feature in the OMG Raw Chocolate; the Gluten-Free Special Victoria Sandwich and the Coconut Melts. Rose comes under the “sweet” category of flavourings and is therefore excellent for balancing the spleen and stomach.
Rose Extract is full of antioxidants; anti-inflammatory compounds and also has anti-bacterial properties. It is most commonly used on the skin and, though, in extract form, is delicious in foods. It is great for bringing calm to the stomach and digestive system.
Antioxidants are the body’s free-radical (abnormal cells) eliminators and are exceptionally important if we wish to attain and retain good health. Free-radicals can multiply and thus change our healthy cells into abnormal ones, leading to dis-ease in our bodies. When completely out of balance, this leads to inflammatory conditions like arthritis; rheumatism; diabetes; “bad” LDL cholesterol; high blood pressure; heart disease and cancer. So foods and extracts which help to counter and/or reverse such conditions are exceptionally welcome in our diets!
And the great news is that it tastes great, too! When used in moderation, of course, otherwise it can become overwhelming on our palette!
