I created this drink one cold November morning, as I felt in need of an additional antioxidant boost, and also, knowing the great appetite-suppressing and fat-busting qualities of Cacao, I thought it would be a great addition to my day in readiness for the Winter Season where we can tend to gain weight! The addition of Cinnamon and, particularly the shot of Cayenne Pepper (a form of Chilli), means that further “free” fat-busting benefits can be gained. Why? Well, adding pungent foods, such as chilli; mustard; horseradish etc to our foods, increases our body’s metabolism by 25%! I know of no exercise that increase the body's metabolism by such an amount, as quickly as just eating just a little more of these types of foods. And the whole drink tastes utterly delicious to-boot! Marvellous! It is best drunk up to four times a day (never exceed 4 teaspoons of cacao powder a day) just before you eat, in order to give you the boost of antioxidants as well as act as the fat-busting; metabolism-boosting; appetite-suppressing health shot it is! Preparation/Cooking Time:- 5 minutes Serving:- 1 Equipment:- Norpro "Drop” & "Pinch"Spoons - Metric half teaspoons- Small Pan - Metric teaspoon - Small whisk 1 Coffee cup Ingredients:- “Drop” spoon of cayenne pepper - ½ teaspoon agave syrup - 1 teaspoon cacao powder - “Pinch” spoon Cinnamon powder - Coffee cup of oat; hemp or rice milk Method:- Whisk all ingredients in a small pan over medium heat; pour into your coffee cup & enjoy hot Note:- If you are using Rice Milk, you could try making it without the Agave Syrup as the milk is naturally sweet! I do this and find it just right! Really Important – NEVER make with dairy milk because this blocks all the antioxidant goodness thus undoing all the GOOD!
